Iraq: Bishop of Basra to visit WCC


His Excellency Gabriel Kassab, Archbishop of Basra (Chaldean Catholic) will visit the World Council of Churches (WCC) on Tuesday, January 28.

A meeting with the press is scheduled at 11:00 am on 28 January in the Main Hall of the Ecumenical Centre with
Archbishop Kassab and Peter Weiderud, coordinator of the WCC team on International Affairs, Peace and Human Security.

They will address the current situation in Iraq and the role of churches in light of the current threat of military action.

Interpretation will be provided in Arabic, English and French.
